Officials with Challenge House in Hopkinsville announced last week that they will hold the 15th AT&T Graduation 6 PM Friday, June 27, at Challenge House No. 7 on 1605 Phelps Avenue.

It is organized for inner-city teens who have completed the two-week summer enrichment program, and who reside in one of the seven inner-city neighborhoods of Hopkinsville.

Promoting job skills, training and career choice, this year’s graduation will include comments from AT&T’s Kentucky Regional Director of External Affairs Amanda Lich.

State Representative Walker Thomas has been invited to attend and make remarks, as well.

AT&T Kentucky financially supports the program, and they are also gifting each graduate of the program an additional “surprise” for its completion. This gift, officials said, is part of AT&T’s effort called “AT&T Connected,” which helps address a digital divide of internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption.

In fact, AT&T is in the middle of committing more than $5 billion through 2030 to offer 25 million people connection to high-speed internet services.

Lich will be presenting the “surprise” gifts, following each graduate receiving a $200 stipend and graduation certificate.
