Bernice Laster Vick Good, 93, of Crofton, Kentucky died at 1:50 a.m., Sunday, June 23, 2025 at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Lawrence Blake officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Kirkmansville, Kentucky she was born on June 19, 1932 the daughter of the late Winford William Laster and Lunnie Belle Shanklin Laster. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, David Good; her son, Bruce Vick; her brothers, Leslie Laster and Bobby Laster and her sisters, Pauline Rice, Elizabeth Frances, Betty Taylor and Martha Lear.
She was a nurse aide having worked at Christian Health Center and in Private in-home nursing. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She taught children’s Sunday School in her early years at Hillcrest Baptist. She loved God and the U.S.A. She and her late husband completed a western U.S tour to fulfill a dream of hers. She could often be seen walking at Senior Citizens, at the Trail of Tears, and in her neighborhood where she often visited with her neighbors along the way.
A favorite activity was line dancing up to 4 times a week until a broken hip halted that activity. She was the recipient of numerous ribbons at the local Senior Games. She took several blue ribbons for walking the fastest mile in her age group.
Survivors include her daughter: Sandra Kay (Lawrence) Vick Blake of Crofton, KY; her grandchildren, Laura (Gary) Durham, Heather (P.A.) Allen and David (Mallory) Blake and eight great grandchildren.
Contributions may take the form of donations to Concord Baptist Church building fund.
