
Attendance at the Western Kentucky State Fair’s opening night was down this year, compared to last year.
Fair officials report that 3,188 visitors passed through the gates on Friday, a decrease from the 3,648 who attended the first night last year.
Activities at the Western Kentucky State Fair continue today starting with the infant pageant at 10 this morning., followed by the baby pageant at 11, and the tiny tot pageant at noon. All events will take place at the Convention Center. Parking is available for $5, and admission is $1 per person.
Gates will open at 4:00 this afternoon.
The petting zoo at the Livestock Pavilion and the rides will both start at 5:00, with unlimited ride armbands available for $30 per person.
The Ms. and Mrs. Western Kentucky State Fair Pageant begins at 5:30 this evening at the Convention Center, with admission just $1 per person.
At 6:00, the pedal pull competition will take place in front of the Convention Center.
The Demolition Derby is set to start at 7:00 tonight at the Grandstand. Admission to the grandstand is $10, with a combo ticket available for $12. Entry at Gates 6 and the Pit Gate is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Parking is $20.
Later, at 7:30, the Miss Western Kentucky State Fair Pageant will take place at the Convention Center, with admission at $1 per person.
