Scott Copeland, 39, of Cadiz

Scott “Scotter” Copeland, age 39, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, in Cadiz.

He was born on May 21, 1986, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the son of Linda Gray Oiler and George Copeland.

A 2004 graduate of Trigg County High School, Scott’s career path eventually led him to Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked as an Uber driver. Scott had a genuine interest in people and he enjoyed the company of his customers and listening to the stories they shared.

Scott was a member of Linton Methodist Church. He was a talented musician who loved playing his guitar and composing his own music. In his downtime, he enjoyed gaming with friends. Scott had the innate ability to be the life of the party. He loved to make others laugh and he thrived on being surrounded by people.

Scott was preceded in death by his Dad, Mark Oiler; his paternal grandparents, James & Nona Copeland, and his maternal grandparents, James & Eleanor Gray.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Gray Oiler of Cadiz; his father, George Copeland; his brothers, Jimmy Copeland (Kelly) of Huntsville, AL and Mark Oiler, Jr. (Sara) of Madisonville, KY; his sister, Melinda Johnson (Adam) of Cadiz, KY; his daughter, Ameniah Pendleton of Hopkinsville, KY; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 20, 2025, with Rev. Jamus Redd officiating. Visitation will precede the service, from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
