Despite Saturday morning’s pouring rain and humid conditions, volunteers from the Cadiz American Legion Post 74 and members of the Trigg County High School football team placed flags in front of Hancock’s Neighborhood Market.

It’s an annual tradition for the local group, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and typically goes up around Flag Day.

American Legion member Curt Holmes told Your News Edge that flags cost $25 again this year, a price that has not increased for about 13 years.

Holmes added they had the help of five football players Saturday morning. They included John Stephens, Bryce Husemann, Kane Noel, Mykai Anderson, and AJ Wharton.

The flags will remain up until just after the Fourth of July holiday. They can be picked up at the John L. Street Public Library in Cadiz.
