Carolyn H. Eddings, age 85, of Evansville, Indiana, a native of Cadiz, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 2, 2025, from Envive Healthcare of Indiana in Evansville.
She was born on June 26, 1939, in Cadiz, the daughter of the late Glenn Wood Herndon and Bertha Carr Herndon.
Carolyn was a proud graduate of Trigg County High School, class of 1957. On August 23, 1958, she married the love of her life, Doyle Eddings. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Teresa and Michael. After her husband was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1969, Carolyn dedicated herself to the support of his ministry, serving as church secretary to the churches he pastored through the years. She also worked as a travel agent while living in Madisonville and was manager of The Shepherd’s Shop in Hopkinsville for many years.
Carolyn was a devoted member of Creekside Baptist Church in Evansville. She loved tending to her flowers, basking in the sunlight on her patio, and enjoyed sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 67 years, Dr. William Doyle Eddings of Evansville; her children, Teresa Diggs (Michael) of Goodlettsville, TN and Michael Eddings (Raeleen) of Gallatin, TN; her grandchildren, Rachel Eddings, Allison Buttrey (Tanner), Brandon Parkinson (Brittany), and Bradley Parkinson; and her dear sister, Marilyn Ladd (James) of Cadiz.
Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 6, 2025, with Dr. William Doyle Eddings officiating. Burial will follow in East End Cemetery in Cadiz. Visitation will precede the service from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
