Sanda Robertson, 76, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville.
Born on November 18, 1948, in Murray, KY, Sanda was the daughter of the late Ralph and Edna Redden. She proudly served her country as a United States Marine and later devoted her professional life to social work. Her deep compassion for others led her to work extensively with foster and adoptive families, becoming a trusted advocate and source of support.
Sanda had a remarkable gift for connecting with people. She could put anyone at ease and often found that even strangers would quickly open up to her. Her genuine care and empathy left a lasting impact on many lives.
She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren and found peace in her garden and the beauty of nature, often enjoying the view from her favorite window.
Sanda is survived by her loving husband, Gary Robertson; her children, Dax (Jessica) Robertson and Lacey (Scott) Schrock; and her cherished grandchildren, Gavin, Caden, and Jax. She is also survived by her sister Dawn Redden and her brother Cary Redden. Toni Redden (sister) and Craig Redden (brother) preceded her death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the East Lakes Foster Parent Association, an organization close to Sanda’s heart and where she dedicated many years of service. Contributions may be sent to the funeral home or mailed directly to 102 Carmichael Court, Hopkinsville, KY 42240. The organization continues her legacy through annual events for foster children, including a Christmas party, Easter egg hunt, and a summer outing to Venture River Waterpark — all causes Sanda held dear.
She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the unwavering support she gave to so many.
