They say the future is so bright, one must wear shades.
Friday afternoon at Hopkinsville’s Stadium of Champions, sunglasses served a dual purpose for Christian County High School’s Class of 2025 — as they shielded the eyes for scores of graduates, taking their next steps into adulthood following Commencement.
Cheesy as that sounds, Kevin Crider wasn’t cheesy at all.
Chosen by the student body to speak, Friday night was a full-circle moment for he and his family. He’s a lifelong Colonel who, after graduating from CCHS, has since been a teacher, a state-championship-winning coach, assistant principal, athletic director, principal, and now serves as an administrator for the district as it approaches consolidation.
After singling out several students and their pathways to success, Crider revealed his “Five F’s” for success: Family, Friends, Finances, Failure and Faith.
He also fostered a united chant for the school, seeking assistance from the students and a large crowd gathered on either side of Jerry Claiborne Field.
Avery Adcock was named Valedictorian, while Cari-Bella Fowler was named Salutatorian. Eight other students earned Top 10 recognition for this class: Zoe Nichole Bass, Jesse David Gilkey, Alexander Franklin Hale, Raegan Harris, Brittan Paige Joiner, Jada Tierra Miller, Michael James Webb and Lillian Taylor Westerfield.
Two students also finished this year with perfect attendance: Isaiah Davidson and Colin Murphy. Both also finished as Honor Graduates, along with the top 10 and several others: Cameran Aldridge, D’Ebony Anderson, Francis Bender, Ka’Miya Boyd, Riley Cook, Nicholas Craft, Leland Creamer, Zack Dawes, Kayelyn DeArmond, Addison Edwards, Trinitie Ferrell, Ava Fetter, Bethany Goodwin, Paul Grace, JaKayla Grubbs, Zyhir Harris, Micah Hook, Noah Hook, Emani Johnson, Gabriel Jolin, Olivia Jones, Ryan Jones, Skylar Kirby, Sydney Knight, Virginia Lane, Aiden Lewis, Aubrey Lillard, Erwin Macario, Isaiah Marshall, Zamien Matlock, Alexis McCowen, James Miles, Taylor Morris, Caleb Moss, Evan Myers, Kaleb Nenoff, Torence Nicholson, Colton North, Takeeyah Palmer, Maci Petty, Cheyanne Rodgers, Bradley Schmitt, MaKyrah Sharber, Elizabeth Simpson, Akiyah Smith, Dixie Smith, Lacey Stewart, Sadie Stuart, Theo Turner, Brady Tyler, Jasmin Watkins, Emma Webster and Braniyah Whitlock.
