Woman Charged In Hopkinsville Shooting

A woman has been charged after a shooting on Liberty Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 24-year-old Jaleon Dyess of Hopkinsville was shot in the neck on Liberty Street at the intersection of East 2nd Street while on the back porch of a home.

Dyess was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to a waiting helicopter that took him to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Police say Dyess was able to talk with them, but the extent of his injuries was unknown.

Shortly after the shooting, Police say 21-year-old Shadymon Buckner of Hopkinsville was interviewed, then arrested and charged with first-degree assault in connection to the shooting.
