Albert Roeder, 92, of Herndon, KY died at 11:32 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2025 at The Medical Center at Franklin in Franklin, KY.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Becky Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Warrick County, IN he was born September 1, 1932 the son of the late Charles John and Lelia Powell Roeder. Albert was a United States Army Veteran. He was co-owner of Roeder Brothers Implement and served a tenure as President of the Kentucky Farm and Power Equipment Association.
Albert was “Popper” to all his family and all their friends at school and community activities. He farmed in the South Christian area and enjoyed boating, raising “Jacks”, woodworking, trail rides, and had many special dogs, cats, and a mule. He was a member of the Western Kentucky Antique Power Association; he enjoyed tractor plow days and tractor drives. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and where he served as a deacon. After retiring, he enjoyed morning coffee and tinkering on the farm.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Evelyn Roeder; his daughter: Shirley Petsch; and his brother: Edwin Roeder.
Survivors include his children: Donna (David) Fields of Auburn, KY and Dennis (Tara) Roeder of Herndon, KY; his son-in-law: Ron Petsch of Edinburg, TX; his grandchildren: Jeri Fields, Mary (Keith) Fields Hudson, Jessica (Seth) Fields Holcombe, J. David (Sarah) Fields, Chad (Beth) Roeder, Andrew (Sarah) Roeder; his great grandchildren: Kaylan Fields, Laurel Fields, Charlotte Fields, Silas Fields, Caleb Fields, Evelyn Hudson, Steele Holcombe, Grant Flock, Elijah Flocke, Ian Flocke, Isaac Flocke, Isaiah Flocke, Anna Flocke, Abigail Flocke, Kaylee Petsch, Esther Roeder, Kaylee Roeder, Peyton Talley, and Blake Talley.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
