Damage in the Cumberland Shores neighborhood and other portions of southern Trigg County from Friday night’s storms was determined to be caused by straight-line winds.

According to the damage survey completed Monday afternoon, the damage was caused by winds of 80-90 MPH and extended from the neighborhood off Lock E Road eastward to just north of the Trigg County part of the Back 40 at Fort Campbell.

NWS Paducah Warning Coordination Meteorologist Christine Wielgos told Your News Edge what kind of damage they saw in the Cumberland Shores area.

Wielgos added that Friday night’s forecast was what they expected to happen across the region.

Additional damage surveys were completed Monday in downtown Princeton, where straight-line winds up to 93 MPH were reported, and in areas of Marshall County.
