Otis Brison, Jr., age 37, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
He was born on September 1, 1987, in Denver, Colorado, to Otis Brison, Sr. and the late Lauren Diane Flaherty Irving.
Otis graduated from Trigg County High School and served in the United States Navy. He worked at Transcraft in Cadiz for several years before recently devoting himself to being a stay-at-home dad to his young children.
Otis was an active member of New Work Fellowship in Hopkinsville, where he always sat on the front row and was actively engaged in worship. He dedicated himself to several ministries within the church as a member of the worship choir, the tech team, the security team, and the kid’s ministry team. Beyond the church walls, he served as a camp chaperone and was an enthusiastic member of the Eastern Kentucky missions team.
An avid sports fan, Otis coached nearly every youth sport that Trigg County offered. Whether it was baseball, football, or wrestling, he mentored and encouraged young athletes with patience and positivity. He was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and University of Kentucky basketball.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lauren Diane Irving; and his stepfather, Jerry Irving.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Mills Brison, whom he married on October 24, 2011; his children, Amree, Jalin, and Lauren Brison, all of the home; his father and stepmother, Otis, Sr. and Markeda Brison of Hopkinsville; his brother, Xavier Brison of Evansville, IN; his sister, De Chanel Irving of Bowling Green, KY. He is also mourned by his good friend, Colt Graves of Owensboro, KY, and shared a special bond with his deceased stepfather’s fiancee,Tara Feneska of Cadiz.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, May 23, 2025, at Perdue Field at Trigg County High School. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM until the hour of service.
