Janice Harper, 85, of Hopkinsville

Janice Harper, age 85, of Hopkinsville, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home and burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the funeral home. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mrs. Harper was born in Christian County, KY on January 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Joseph Nelson and Addie Mae Parker Allen. Janice was a graduate of Sinking Fork High School, Bethel College (A.A.), Austin Peay State University (B.S.), Western KY University (M.A.), Murray State University (Rank 1), and received certification by the Library of Congress as a literary Braille transcriber. She was a retired teacher for the Christian County Board of Education and taught in Trigg County Public School and Fort Campbell Schools. She was also co-owner of Kreative Krafts with her husband for 31 years. Janice was a member of Faith Outreach Church in North Clarksville, TN and worked with missions worldwide and locally. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Joe and Jimmy Allen.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, William (Bill) Harper of Hopkinsville, and also survived by several nieces and nephews to whom she was loving known as Aunt Janice.
