James Harrell Hite, 81, of Hopkinsville

James Harrell Hite, age 81, of Hopkinsville passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Baptist Health in Madisonville of natural causes.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Tatum Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the funeral home. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mr. Hite was born December 10, 1943, in Cadiz, KY to the late James R. and Eldo Boyd Hite. James was a veteran in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a maintenance mechanic at McCraw Lumber and a farmer. James attended West Mount Zoar Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Eula “Dianne” Hite in 2017; and his sister, Martha Carol Kirkman.

Survivors include his son, Ricky Lane Hite and his wife, Angela of Shelbyville, IN; his daughter, Amy Lynn Reed and her husband Christopher of Camby, IN; his stepson, Charles Vince Dixon and his wife, Natalie of Hopkinsville; his brothers, David Hite and his wife Helen, and Jeff Hite and his wife, Deirdra both of Cadiz; six grandchildren, Gage, Caysen, Brett, Victoria, Tristan and Keaton; two great grandsons, Beau, and Ryman and his dog, Daisy.
