Ascension Saint Thomas officials announced Thursday plans for a new full-service hospital in Clarksville, Tennessee, designed to anchor a growing, community-focused health system.
The project will be located on a 96-acre site at Highway 76 and I-24 and includes a $148.5 million investment.
The hospital will open with 44 inpatient beds—expandable to 132—and offer emergency care, inpatient surgery, cardiology, oncology, women’s health, NICU, orthopaedics and more. It will also provide outpatient surgery, advanced imaging, and other ambulatory services for coordinated, seamless care.
Officials say the new hospital will create about 250 healthcare jobs and serve the needs of one of Tennessee’s fastest-growing counties.
Currently, many Clarksville residents travel more than 50 miles to Nashville for care, or turn toward Tennova Health north of the city.
This new facility, officials added, aims to deliver trusted, high-quality healthcare close to home, and the project reflects Ascension Saint Thomas’s long-term commitment to the region.
Since opening its first Clarksville site in 2005, the health system has grown to 14 care locations in the area. This new hospital will serve as the foundation of an integrated health system designed to grow with the community.
Ascension Saint Thomas has submitted a Letter of Intent to the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission and is moving through the Certificate of Need process. A public hearing is scheduled for July 25, where community members can offer input.
