The City of Hopkinsville is inviting the public to two important events this week, both aimed at community support and remembrance.

On Tuesday, May 13 at 4:30 PM, nonprofit leaders are encouraged to attend an informational Q&A session about the city’s new “Hoptown Helps” grant program. The session will take place in the Council Conference Room at the Hopkinsville Municipal Center, 715 South Virginia Street.

The grant program was created to ensure a fair and transparent process for city funding to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Applications are due May 31, and details are available at hopkinsvilleky.us/hoptownhelps.

On Thursday, May 15 at 4:30 PM, the public is invited to the annual Police Memorial Service at the Fraternal Order of Police Memorial Park (next to the Hopkinsville Police Department, 101 North Main Street).

The ceremony, held on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, honors fallen law enforcement officers and includes remarks from community leaders and a proclamation by city officials.
