A Hopkinsville man was charged with drug possession and arrested on several warrants after a traffic stop on Eagle Way in Christian County Saturday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Lassner says he stopped a truck driven by 47-year-old Rickie Atwell for an equipment violation, and during the stop, Atwell gave him a false name.
As Lassner checked on the name Atwell gave, he got out of his truck and tried to flee, but was quickly apprehended.
He was found to have four active warrants and was then arrested and charged with possession of meth third offense, resisting arrest, license to be in possession, third-degree fleeing or evading police, persistent felony offender, and excessive window tint.
