Nancy L. Neale, 93, of Fayetteville, TN

Nancy L. Neale, age 93, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, a native of Trigg County, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at her residence in Fayetteville.

Born on February 21, 1932, in Trigg County, Nancy was the daughter of the late Albert Larkins, and Lois Roberts Larkins. She was a 1949 graduate of Trigg County High School in Cadiz, Kentucky. Nancy worked as a telephone operator in Indianapolis, Indiana, Los Angeles, California and Hopkinsville, Kentucky until 1962. After that, she proudly served her family as a wife, mother, house keeper and example of general ability of how to live a perfect life.

Nancy chaperoned many a high school band trip for the Christian County Marching Colonels and loved being called Mama Neale by so many. She traveled with the band to many places, including the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl and Fiesta Bowl. She also ran the gift wrap fundraising booth for many years. She was known for many things including being a great baker and creator in the kitchen. Many people still remember the great cakes and cookies she made as well as always having a delicious meal on the table. She also was a renowned seamstress, making clothes for her children as well as doing needlepoint artwork, many of which is still proudly displayed in her home. She was also a faithful member of the church, where she attended or taught Sunday School regularly. Even homebound, she regularly “attended” service on the TV and even read through the entire Bible during the last year and a half of her life.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her first husband Elbert Lee Solomon and a sister Carol Larkins Hansen.

She is survived by her husband James (Jim) Neale, her son Douglas (Jennie) Solomon and daughter Jane Neale (George) Zubulake, grandchildren, Shawn David (Shelly) Solomon, and Kathryne Anne (Mathew) Remick, great- grandchildren, Shawn David Solomon Jr, Sebastian Maxwell Solomon and Rae Viviana Remick, and numerous extended family members and friends.

A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Tennessee.

A graveside service will be held at Cerulean Cemetery, Church Street, Cerulean, Kentucky on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM.

Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, is in care of the local arrangements.
