William R. “Billy” Scott, Jr., age 76 of Hopkinsville, passed away at 9:42 AM Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Scott was born on September 4, 1948, in Trenton, KY, son of the late William R. Scott Sr. and Gladys Lancaster Scott. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. After retiring from Max Arnold and Sons, he continued helping others with his passion for muscle cars. Billy was a member of Trenton Baptist Church. He was also a member of the NHRA. He loved racing and antique tractor pulls.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Betty Underwood Scott of Hopkinsville; his son, William Bradley Scott (Bridget) of Elkton; his brother, Bruce Scott (Karen) of Elkton; his sisters, Alice Anderson of Elkton, Mary Ruth Seay of Trenton, Molly Frederick of Trenton, and Helen Gardner (Martty) of Trenton; his grandsons, William Scott (Melynda) and Ethan Thomas Scott; and his great-granddaughters, Abigail and Olivia Scott.
