A Hopkinsville man was charged after he reportedly fled from police on West 7th Street Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called for 44-year-old James Racelis after one of the gas stations had asked for him to be given a trespass warning to stay away from the business.

He reportedly gave officers a false name and then fled from them, leading to one officer suffering a knee injury.

Racelis was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, and giving an officer false identifying information.
