Teenager Charged After Trigg County Pursuit

A pursuit that started around the FiveStar gas station in Trigg County led to a crash Sunday morning.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop a truck just before 3 am and the driver fled at a high rate of speed before hitting a tree on Cool Spring Cave Road.

The driver and two passengers were taken into custody and the truck caught fire after the crash. Montgomery Fire Department was called to extinguish the fire.

Deputies say all three people in the vehicle are being taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The driver who is a juvenile is charged with first and second-degree fleeing or evading police, DUI under 21 years old, open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and three counts of failure to wear a seat belt.
