Paul Edward Turner, age 76, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Christian Health Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow with military honors in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Turner was born in Breathitt County, KY, on June 14, 1948, the son of the late Thomas Turner and Aza Watts Turner. He is a proud veteran of the United States Army. His decorations and medals included the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter(rifle). Paul was a member of the Southside Church of Christ. He was a member of the National Geographic Society and loved to hunt arrowheads and explore caves, he was a ginseng expert. One of his favorite pastimes was woodcarving. He had a love for fishing and to just explore the outdoors. He retired from Maintenance at Phelps Dodge. He loved his family with all his heart.
Survivors include his daughters, Amy (Keith) Baker of Smyrna, TN, Dina Acker of Hopkinsville; his brothers, Thomas (Wanda) Turner, Jr. of Hopkinsville, Delmar Turner of Elkton, Robert (Tammy) Turner of Hopkinsville, Harvey (Rosie) Turner of Cadiz; his sisters, Shirley Page of Clifty, Eva (Bobby) Edwards of Clifty; his grandchildren, Katie Hancock and Megan Wenzell; and his greatgrandchildren, Tyler Hancock and Abby Hancock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Christian Health Center.
