During Thursday’s Cadiz-Trigg County Tourist Commission meeting, Executive Director Beth Sumner confirmed the local visitors kiosks are now up-to-date and ready for public consumption.

They serve as a direct proxy of the organization’s website, gocadiz.com, and offer a number of other helpful elements for travelers and natives alike.

At the top of Sumner’s list: an up-to-the-minute calendar of events, which showcases all of the different opportunities in the community.

The big wait for their operation, she said, came from the logistics side of the office.

Kiosks, she said, have digital brochures — as well as a photo booth option for selfies and group shots that can be shared to social media.

A date for its arrival and reveal will be announced this summer. Furthermore, Commissioner and Chair Matt Ladd, who also serves Parks & Recreation, said discussions are also under way for possible improvements to the Renaissance Stage, and maybe a mural somewhere in the county.

And while the gocadiz.com website has fully been remodeled, an official Ham Fest page will soon come with it. Sumner added that local actor and videographer Lucas Hyde is responsible for most of the still and drone footage on the new-look digital profile of the community, while extensive proofing went through Kerry Allen in-house.

They also approved her ask for an intern position to be opened this summer, in which a collegian could work around 48 days over a 12-week period. It was suggested that part-time employment with Lake Barkley State Resort Park or Harper House could garner a full-time slate, if desire
