Funeral services for 65-year-old Larry Stephen “Bones” Shumate, of Pembroke, will be at a later date.
Latham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include:
His son, Drew Pool, of Bowling Green;
His daughter, Stephany Pool, of Cadiz;
His sisters, Sharon Carver, of Hopkinsville, and Shelley Markham, of Elkton;
A special niece, Shelbi (Bryce) Gregory;
A bonus son, Steven “Peanut” Gardner;
And 5 grandchildren.
He died at 9:30 P.M., Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, Tennessee.
He was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, November 20, 1959.
He was a mechanic by trade. Steve was a U.S. Army veteran where he was a Helicopter Mechanic attaining the rank of SP4.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mary Elsie Jones Shumate and Norris Ray Shumate, his son Nicky Shumate, his brothers Danny “LP” Shumate and David “Hoghead” Shumate.
