Henry L. Cathey, Sr. was born in Jackson, TN to the late Arthur Cathey and Margaret Dianne Cathey.
Baker, as his early friends and family knew him, worked in the railroad industry and was a successful entrepreneur. Henry maintained a healthy work-life balance and believed life was for living. He enjoyed fishing, any and all outdoorsman activities, and gathered with people to have a good time. Henry had a boisterous personality and didn’t mind speaking his mind. He was fun-loving and absolutely adored his family. Henry was preceded in death by his son, Henry L. Cathey, Jr., and two brothers, Lee Holland and Robert Cathey.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Torrance Terry Travis of Ledbetter, KY, Marcellina Wyetha Cathey of Fresno, TX, Tanaka (Paul) Carter of Lexington, KY, Angela Galbreath of Kennesaw, GA, Melony Cathey of Ruston, LA, McKinley Cathey, Xander Cathey, and Margaret Alexis Cathey all of Ford, VA. His siblings are Ralph Burns of Dallas, TX, Michael Burns of Paducah, KY, and Margaret Dianne (George, Sr.) Ross of Paducah, KY, 6 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a special companion Javanta Dawson of Hopkinsville, KY, and more friends than we can number.
