Charles Banton, 85, of Hopkinsville

Charles Glenn Banton, 85, of Hopkinsville, died at 6:45 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 202,5 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Joe Bufford officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Pembroke. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Logan County, KY, he was born June 7, 1939, the son of the late Glenn and Gladys Banton. Charles was raised in Pembroke, Kentucky, and graduated from Pembroke High School in 1957. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University in 1961. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was also a member of Gideon’s International, where he served in the Jail Ministry.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Bell Banton; by his daughters, Jacwyn (Jack) Lackey of Hopkinsville, KY, and Danna (Shawn) Parker of Cape Girardeau, MO; his stepson, Randy (Judy) Bell of Chapmansboro, TN; his grandchildren, Sarah Lackey, Joe (Zena) Lackey, Lindsay Parker, Lily Parker, Logan (Cassidy) Bell, and Bobby (Cameron) Bell; and his great grandson, Boston Bell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann (Clayton) Young, and his grandson, Matthew Parker.
