Trigg County Hospital’s Board of Directors convened in special session Monday morning unanimously approving a $750,000 purchase of the Roses Express building on 1938 Main Street in Cadiz.
The hospital will take ownership June 1.
CEO & President John Sumner noted that board and hospital administration had been seeking additional property near the US 68/80 bypass, or near Main Street, for the past year — and for a number of reasons.
The top one: since 2018, Trigg County Hospital has added 10 new specialty services, and while the growth has been “great,” the organization is “running out of space.”
Roses is currently liquidating and soon-to-be closing, and Sumner said the building profile is 16,500 square feet with more than 50 parking spots on three acres.
Sumner added that hospital and its administration have “future plans” and “potential developments” to make this property a clinic space — in order to provide more services and more conveniences for Trigg County and its surrounding communities.
The property was originally constructed as a Fred’s Super Dollar. Fred’s occupied the space from September 2002 until it closed in late 2019.
