An Owingsville man was flown to a Nashville hospital after a rollover crash on Interstate 24 in Christian County Friday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say a truck driven by 53-year-old Gary Hopkins was eastbound at the Pembroke Oak Grove Road exit when it ran off the road and overturned before catching fire.
Other motorists reportedly stopped and pulled Hopkins from his vehicle before emergency personnel arrived.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says Hopkins was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to a waiting helicopter on Walter Garrett Lane that flew him to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Rogers says Hopkins suffered critical injuries with possible internal bleeding.
Deputies say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
