Hopkinsville Mayor JR Knight will deliver his annual budget address at 9 AM Friday, May 2, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
The address will outline the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year, with a strong emphasis on the city’s “Growing Home” initiative, which focuses on improving quality of life, enhancing public safety, promoting economic development, beautifying the city, and supporting city staff.
Knight is expected to share updates on city services and investments—both ongoing and new—that align with the city’s strategic goals. Residents will hear how this year’s budget aims to meet the community’s evolving needs and help Hopkinsville continue to thrive.
Key areas include expanded public safety resources, economic growth opportunities, city beautification, and workforce development for municipal employees.
After the address, the proposed budget will be submitted to City Council for review and approval in the weeks ahead.
The event is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend. A livestream will also be available on the City’s YouTube channel, @cityofhopkinsvilleky.
