CCPS Takes Next Steps in Forming Police Force

Christian County Public School Board of Education members questioned several requests pertaining to the new in-house school resource officer program, before approving the measures. Thursday night, District Director of School Safety Clayton Sumner presented the School Board with a job description for school resource officers.

click to download audioHe says the shortened contract will help make the job more appealing and competitive with other law enforcement jobs. Sumner also presented a Memorandum of Understanding with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office to allow the SROs to operate beyond school property.

click to download audioIn other business, District Director of Finance Jessica Darnell successfully asked the board to advertise a request for proposals for banking services in Christian County, effective July 1, 2025.

click to download audioThe School Board also approved $3.2 million in payments to contractors at the High School construction project and requests for proposals for the Christian County High School Greenhouse and the Culinary Program kitchen equipment for the new high school.
