Todd County Public Schools will have a new superintendent after approval Wednesday evening.

Jessica Addison, who currently serves as the assistant superintendent of Christian County Public Schools, was chosen by the board after an extensive and rigorous search and interview process. Addison will take over the position from Mark Thomas effective July 1, 2025.

Addison has deep roots in Todd County and brings a wealth of experience and a passion for student success to her new role. Her career in education began in Todd County, and she has since held leadership positions with the Kentucky Department of Education and Christian County Public Schools.

A lifelong resident of Todd County, she expressed her honor and excitement to return home in this pivotal role. “As I step into the role of Superintendent of Todd County Schools, I do so with immense gratitude and faith,” she stated. “I truly believe that God has guided my steps and prepared me for this opportunity to humbly serve my hometown in a new and meaningful way.”

Known for her collaborative leadership style, Addison is committed to building strong relationships with staff, families, and the community to ensure every child thrives. “I look forward to working with the incredible staff, families, and community members of Todd County,” she shared. “Together, we will build upon the district’s existing successes to ensure our students receive the very best educational experiences and opportunities possible.”

Addison, along with her husband Jamie, resides on their family farm in Todd County, where they are raising their two youngest children, Jett and Jaci Kate, who attend Todd County Schools. Their adult son, Jaxon, a recent graduate of Todd County Central High School, also lives nearby. The family is actively involved in Trenton Baptist Church.

In her spare time, Addison enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, making memories on the farm, and staying connected to the community she loves.

As she prepares to take on her new role, she will work closely with Mark Thomas to ensure a smooth transition.
