Following a successful and historic 58th annual W.J. Hopson Cadiz Rotary kickoff breakfast Monday morning, Rotarians were quite pleased with the overall day one total.

Auction co-chair, Beth Sumner announced night one auction totals during the broadcast on 106.5 WKDZ.

Sumner shared that adding in the breakfast auction total of over $36,000 and the Country Store total of nearly $477 – the total eclipsed $46,500.

When accounting for Century Club and other donations, the Hand Bid website shared that $62,373 has been raised for the club, as of Tuesday morning.

Rotarian J.B. Moore said there’s still more ground to cover this week.

Proceeds from the 2024 auction helped to purchase a bus for the Trigg County Senior Citizens Center. Moore shared the bus will be at the Cadiz Baptist Church Annex for the community to view for the remainder of auction week.

The Helping Hands of Trigg County will again serve dinner on Tuesday evening. The menu includes ribeye, chicken, and BBQ chicken sandwiches, along with hamburgers.

To place bids on auction items throughout the week, call (270) 588-8855 between 6:00-9:00 PM or visit the Hand Bid website for online items. Radio coverage begins Tuesday night at 6:00 on 106.5 WKDZ, WKDZradio.com, and the WKDZ app for night two of the auction.
