A Hopkinsville man and woman were charged with drug possession after a traffic stop on Kenton Street in Hopkinsville Monday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Crystal Baugh for going 15 mph under the speed limit and she stated she was not from here but could not give officers a driver’s license or proof of insurance.
As the passenger 46-year-old Kenneth Lancaster was patted down by officers he reportedly started fighting with the officer and was found to have an open syringe on him.
Lancaster and Baugh were both taken into custody and after a search of the vehicle, police say meth was found in a cigarette case.
When patting down Baugh police say two bags of synthetic marijuana were found on the ground next to the cruiser.
She was arrested and charged with driving too slow for traffic conditions, possession of meth, possession of synthetic drugs, tampering with physical evidence, operating on a suspended a revoke license, resisting arrest, and no insurance.
Lancaster was also arrested and charged with menacing, possession of meth, possession of synthetic drugs, first-degree wanton endangerment, and resisting arrest.
