A Tuesday morning power outage knocked out service for a good chunk of Todd County.
Brent Gilkey, spokesperson for Pennyrile Electric, said a fire on a static line within the Elkton substation was reported. When crews arrived, power was turned off to prevent damage to the substation equipment. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews worked to remove the line.
At the height of the outage, around 5,653 members were without power, which lasted over an hour.
