David ‘Tar Baby’ Edmonson, 69, of Cerulean

Visitation for 69-year-old David “Tar Baby” Edmonson, of Cerulean, will be 11 AM Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Survivors include:
Son, David Edmonson, Jr., of Cerulean;
Two daughters, Donna Sharp and Renee Edmonson, both of Cadiz;
Four grandchildren, Michael Douglas Sharp, Whitney Sharp, Danny Cansler, and Jaykob Hollon Edmonson;
Brother, Paul Edmonson, of Cadiz;
Sister, Betty Smith, of Eddyville;
And special friend, Wanda Forsythe, of Gracey.

He died at 9:54 AM, Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

He was born December 21, 1955, in Trigg County, son of the late Albert Edmonson and Mary Simmons Edmonson Poyner.

Affectionately known as “Tar Baby” by those who knew him best, he was a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He proudly worked as a logger.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Melissa Sue Edmonson; six brothers, Phillip, Kenneth, Bobby, Claude, Albert, Jr., and Douglas Edmonson; three sisters, Gracie Choate, Mary Alice Tyler, and Becky Burden; and his stepfather, Bill Poyner.
