Funeral services for 90-year-old Hilmond Simpson Jr., of Hopkinsville, will be 1 PM Friday at Lamb Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until the funeral hour.
Survivors include:
His wife of 71 years, Sue Simpson, of Hopkinsville, KY;
His son, Larry Simpson, of Christian County;
His daughter, Kathy Sue (Happy) Lovell, of Glasgow;
His brothers, Keith Simpson, Kenneth (Diane) Simpson, and Clifford (Carol) Simpson, all of Hopkinsville;
His sisters, Carolyn Faye (Charles) Sugg, of Christian County, Nell Cooper, of Mortons Gap;
His grandchildren, Brian (Natalie) Lovell and Tara (Chuck) Houchens; and five great-grandchildren.
Bobby Ashby is officiating.
Simpson, Jr., died of natural causes Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his home.
A native of Christian County, he was born January 15, 1934, the son of late Oscar Hilmond Simpson and the late Nellie (Marsh) Simpson.
Hilmond was a janitor for Christian County Public Schools. He was previously a railroad lineman and a mechanic at Collins Buick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Simpson, James Simpson, Douglas Simpson; his sisters, Juanita Johnson, Pauline White, Edith Jones, and Helen Good.
